The leaves on the trees are going that lovely orangey burnt colour, the nights are drawing in and thoughts of mega portions of veggie stew and dumplings are forming in my mind. It can only mean one thing.  Autumn is coming. Which is quite disconcerting because last time I looked it was summer…

After I returned from the fringe I went travelling in South Africa for 3 weeks.  It was quite a trip.  The temptation to ramble on about the giant, face sized spider, which I had to share a toilet with, is strong.  But I will show an iron will and fast-forward to the bit where I got home…

Basically I was nervous because it was time to find out how the show had been received critically. It doesn’t matter how much you believe in a piece of work you’ve done, seeing it slagged off in print is just terrifying.  I also know how random reviewers can be.  During a previous show I’d written, a reviewer came and read a book all the way through the performance (honestly this happened) then produced the kind of write-up that made me want to dig a little hole in the ground and sit in it…  Anyway the moment had come to face the fear and find out. So I rang Steph at Red Ladder. She said ‘Have you seen the reviews, have you been to the website?’  I said ‘I’ve seen some… Well one which was good, but did we do ok other than that?’.  She said ‘ Just go and read the reviews girl!’  And so I did and you know what?  It was a really lovely moment.

Because it turns out we got some great reviews!

So please go and read Forgotten Things fab write-ups!  The links are below just click, click, click:
