The Culture Vulture 2nd Birthday Party

Big Pimped Up Crunchie by Katie Bolton
Big Pimped Up Crunchie by Katie Bolton

Wow can you believe it? We’ve been going two years in February, it seems to have gone so quickly! We could take this time to say just how far we’ve all come together, but why not do it by having a wee party as a way of saying thank you for being bloody brilliant? We couldn’t find a date that everyone was allowed out to play in February so stick 4th March in your diary. (Please rsvp at bottom)

In keeping with being two years old, we’ve decided to dispnse with grown up behaviour and revert back to the best kind of party, that’s right, one where sophistication is a dirty word! Imagine a toddler’s birthday and blow it up big!

We’re absolutely blessed to have the wonderful Create Leeds, the award winning social enterprise taking care of our party food, just wait till you see the spread! But we also need you to get creative

Remember when monster munch were so big you could wear them like rings and you were a playground legend if you could fit a whole wagon wheel in your gob in one? We want to bring back memories of the days when snacks were this epic in a baking competition to top them all. Use your imagination and skill to recreate giant sweeties and treats from your youth. This idea has been unashamedly nicked from www.pimpthatsnack.com so have a look if you don’t quite get what we are on about. Prizes will be awarded for the best efforts.

And dangerously it’s BYOJ which means ‘Bring your own Jelly‘ We’d like to see savoury, sculptural, Damien Hirst inspired (suspended stuff) colourful & toxic (boozy) Any size, any mould, the more imaginative the better.

If you’d like to get involved in the event beyond turning up then do let us know, anyone who fancies turning innocent musical chairs, pin the tail on the donkey or other splendid games into lurid adult versions give us a shout!

Hopefully you’ll join us? We’ve promised everyone who voted for us in the Shorty Awards (we ended top, but who knows if that means that we won) that we’ll bake a cookie, so that’s over 300 to make…Come pick them up at the party.

We promise it’ll be fun, or you can put us on the naughty step and leave us there until we get back in your good books.

Location to be revealed very soon, but it’s LS1, near the bus station and pretty darn cool!

(Obviously you wont be barred entry if you arrive without pimped snacks or jellies but do feel free to bring a small pressie to avoid us going into a toddler meltdown)
