Holy Moley! Part Fourteen Gemma Correll

travellingSKETCHBOOK_quorn

Who are you and what do you do? I’m Gemma Correll and I am a freelance illustrator. I mostly draw pictures of cats.

What are you currently working on? At the moment, I’m working on an animation project as well as a comic for Anorak magazine. I’m also busy designing t-shirts and my own products, like cards and stationery.

What inspires you? Anything and everything. People, animals, food, coffee, music… I like observing the world around me and documenting it in my drawings.

What’s currently keeping you awake at night? My next door neighbours arguing.

What theme did you receive and how was it responding to it? The theme I got was “Things that look like other things”. The first thing that came into my mind was quorn, so that’s what I drew. I’m a vegetarian but I find it a bit odd when companies try to make their veggie products look like meat.

If you were choosing a theme what would it have been? I quite liked the theme that I got. If I’d chosen a theme it probably would have been something to do with animals, but I draw them all the time so it was good to get something different.

Who would you like to see get their hands on a travelling moleskine? Sara Fanelli, Tom Gauld Simone Lia

If you had five more hours a day, what would you do? Probably just more work!

What’s your favourite website (you don’t have to say ours) wetpets.tumblr.com

If you weren’t doing what you are doing now, what would you be doing? Running a rescue centre for pugs in need of hugs.

What’s next? I’m moving to America.
