Discover The Source of some fab food at Kirkgate Market

Lets face it, Leeds Kirkgate Market is one of the seven wonders of West Yorkshire (if not the world).

It’s the biggest covered market in Europe, with fantastic variety, amazing sounds, smells, pork pies, and lobsters… However, the crazy mix of cafes, butchers, cardigan shops, tripe shops and haberdasheries can seem both a little daunting and quite confusing to the uninitiated. Until now…

The Source is a new stall – right at the top of the market in the 1904 Hall – that is dedicated to helping more people get more put of the food at the market. It will be a focus for useful information about the great food on offer, with a brand new food map, special offers, recipes, that promote the amazing diversity of food available here.

But that is not all. Oh no!

The Source will also be the venue for all kinds of food-based events – tastings, demos and promos, with chefs, and cooks from the market and beyond giving people lots of tasty treats.

The first big event is on Saturday 23rd when the stall will be the focus for the northern launch of Great British Beef Week then we are mucking in with the rather fab Shop at the Market week, which will bring art, performance, writers and more to the market. Culminating with Shop at the Market Day on 7th May.

  1. I am assuming it is Leeds Kirkgate Market not Kirkstall? Sounds interesting, will it get people back shopping in the market though – I guess only time will tell.
