We asked Lizzie at the Playhouse to tell us why an evening at Counted was not worthy and educational!
We all take our right to vote for granted, but do you actually vote? If you do vote do you feel that it counts? Would you be more likely to vote if it weren’t such a dull affair, if there were tea and cakes and perhaps a bit of music at the polling station? You might be sick of hearing about voting and elections, but don’t switch off yet. Counted? at West Yorkshire Playhouse next week (25 – 29 May) is a brand new production that takes the words of interviewees from around the region and brings them to life through 5 actors. As a drama you can completely engage with the wide variety of characters, and as a documentary it is a fascinating insight into the views and opinions of real people. Tickets cost from just £12 www.wyp.org.uk
Go on, give it a go, and re tweet this on twitter: ‘Win one of 5 pairs of tickets to see Counted? @wyplayhouse all you have to do is RT this message to be entered http://ht.ly/1NSz4‘ Winners will be chosen randomly and informed by The West Yorkshire Playhouse by direct message
