Here’s a few interesting events happening for fans of Beer, Whisky and Food in Leeds over the next few weeks. Firstly, Burns Night always gives reason to enjoy hearty Scottish Food and Whisky, and two of Leeds’s best pubs are celebrating the event with themed suppers.
The Cross Keys Burns Night will be on the 25th January, and for the price of £30 you’ll enjoy a three-course supper, tutored Whisky and Beer Tasting and some typically Scottish Oration. I’ve been to a few tutored dinners at The Cross Keys and I can’t rate them highly enough.
Another Pub with a great rep for food, Veritas Ale and Wine Bar, are also holding a Burns Celebration on the same night. This time, £25 gets you a five course menu and beer tasting. Veritas are also offering Scottish morsels and treats in the pub throughout the week – check out their website for details. Finally for Veritas, I’ll also point fans of Whisky to a tasting by Kill Devil Whisky on the 18th of January.
Booking is essential for both events.
If you read the many Beer Blogs based in Leeds and wonder how we get all those flavours out of a pint of mild, then maybe Mr Foley’s Beer Club is for you. The first night will be held on the 17th of January, and then regularly afterwards on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Details can be found on the Beer Buzz Beer Clubs site, and if you want to know more about the wonderful array of flavour that can be found in Beer, then this is a perfect launch-pad for you.
