Online Design Award Offers Chance to Win Big
Comic Comp are giving budding designers the chance to have their comic illustrations published online, as well as taking home prizes worth £1,000.
Comic Comp is an online design competition run by instantprint.co.uk, launched to discover a new ‘Comic Comp Designer of the Year’.
Entrants to Comic Comp are required to submit a comic strip design, inspired by an amusing, poignant, precious or unforgettable moment – or chain of events – and turn it into a comic style illustration.
The winner will be rewarded with publicity and exposure of their winning entry on 3x3mag.com – a New York based art and illustration magazine that’s distributed worldwide, and designjuices.co.uk – an online creative blog, showcasing the best inspirational designers, artists, and photographers.
In addition to this, the winner will also take home prizes worth close to £1,000:
A one year subscription to Adobe Comic Cloud (Complete plan RRP £562.50)
Moleskine Sketchbook (RRP £15)
COPIC Drawing Pen Kit and Blender (RRP £82)
Wacom Graphics Tablet (RRP £299.99)
Professional framed print of their comic strip (provided by instantprint.co.uk)
The site is now live, and can be viewed at comic.instantprint.co.uk for full details, T&Cs and a competition design brief – which entrants will need to follow in order to complete their entry.
Submissions can be made via comic.instantprint.co.uk from Monday 10th February 2014.
All design entries will appear in an online gallery on the site, where the public will get a chance to vote for their favourites.
Only the top three from public voting will go through to face a final judging phase, carried out by a panel made up of members from instantprint.co.uk, 3x3mag.com and designjuices.co.uk.
At instantprint.co.uk we have on online design tool which allows people to create their own unique business cards, flyers, invitations… We see loads of great looking designs coming through, and we wanted to run the competition to encourage more of this artistic flair which the UK public clearly have!
We’ve tailored the prizes to reward the winner in a way we think will be really relevant to an up and coming designer. Winning a competition like this is a fantastic stepping stone; it’s a great one for the portfolio and goes a long way in bringing attention to your talent!
