We like the idea of drinking for charity! New food and drink festival LS6 offers you the opportunity to imbibe, digest and feel saintly as all profits go to Village to Village.
What’s more it’s taking place in a venue we are ashamed to say we still have not visited, but really will do soon, and this appears to be the reason to get along to Left Bank on Cardigan Road, Leeds. Previously a church, now an arts and cultural venue, the pictures we have glimpsed promise a truly stunning location to help you feel heavenly as you sample over 20 award winning real ales, beers, ciders & perrys.
The festival’s full range of ales, ciders and perrys will come with a programme providing tasting notes and information for discerning drinkers. The full range of the spectrum will be covered, with the one unifying theme being that every cask ale on offer is an award-winner. There’s also a slant towards local brews, with 15 of the 20 ales coming from Yorkshire.
A hog roast will be served throughout the day, with vegetarian options also on offer. There will be bottled beers, a selection of wine and soft drinks available as well.
Bradford band Hoover Dams will top the entertainment bill with their particular brand of scuzzy pop. There’ll also be anti-folk from Old Man Pie, pirate punk shanties from Bootscraper, acoustic folk from Maia, sparkly melody from London-based the Quadrilles, world music-influenced soul from Soul Circle Gang and eccentric songwriting from Nick John Henry.

I can’t wait for this. I’m really looking forward to visiting Left Bank for the first time and sampling many of the ales on offer. The line up is looking interesting too.
The beer list is fantastic, looking forward to seeing the venue too
