Have you a harbored that piece of furniture for a long time- not wanting to throw it away because you know that it just has that potential. Well bring it along to the Revamping your furniture course at the workshop and give it a new lease of life. 

You will learn new and innovative ways to update their favored piece of furniture or maybe turn it around and transform it into a completely new statement piece for their home. 

Possible techniques which you could learn (dependant on piece):
  • How to strip back a piece of furniture back to its bare bones
  • Learn about the period/style/history/background ? maybe its hidden secrets ? it?s a wonder what you will find hidden between its old layers.
  • Using the right wood treatments
  • Re-polishing and tending to any broken bones e.g. joint repairs and re-strengthening
  • Basic upholstery techniques ? which will cover re-padding, webbing, springing and choosing new fabrics

    Emily Farncombe runs her unique upholstery business () from the Factory4 workshop (www.fac4.co.uk). She works on a wide range of jobs from child?s chairs to chesterfield sofas and has recently started dabbling in creating her own fabric to adorn classic pieces of furniture.

    Emily is traditionally trained in specialist antique furniture restoration and just loves nothing more than bringing old furniture back to life again!

    With Emily?s vast knowledge of techniques and traditions and the great facilities in the Factory4 workshop you are sure to learn and be advised wisely to how to transform your beloved piece of furniture into a beautiful piece for your home
