Have you heard of the dude who doodles on your photos, turning them into something much, much more exciting?
His name is Phil Wall, he’s from Leeds, and his aim with Project Photo Doodle is to doodle on as many parts of the world as possible using your donated photos.
Phil says “I doodle on people’s photos emailed to me from around the world, populating them with monsters and other strangeness.”
If, like me, you look back at your photos with fond memories but often feel like there’s something missing, you’ll love this idea. It saves taking a monster with you on holiday too. A win-win situation!
Phil has very kindly agreed to do next month’s site banner, and now we need your help. Do you have a suitable image in need of some amusing animation?
We’d love you to put your photos on The Culture Vulture Flickr Group, tagged CultureVultureDoodle, so we can source a kickass image for Phil to doodle on. Please caption the photo with details of the location and don’t forget to state where you’re from and whether you are a #hometourist or a visitor to the area you photographed.
The preference is for large, high resolution images, with natural lighting and before they’ve been tweaked or edited at all. Scenery shots work better than close up shots of people. (If you want to see a monster appearing behind your friend’s head, try absinthe.)
Closing date for submissions- 29th August
Look out for the chosen image complete with super-doodle on the site in September, along with some interesting, hilarious and no doubt simply shocking facts about Phil.
PS there’s a monster behind you.
Phil has kindly volunteered to show some of his work at the interval for Bettakultcha at the Corn Exchange in September.
