Why not hold back on your Thursday after work drinks for an hour and get along to Leeds Shopping Plaza 5-7pm on March 11th? You will be rewarded by three new projects  from Art in Unusual Spaces

In ‘Playground’ ten artists contemplate the role of play in art. Through various works including a teddy bears picnic, treacle, activity books, a mood swing, animal costumes and jigsaws, audiences are offered a hands-on approach for taking play seriously.

Artist collective SLICEarts, create SLICEland; a ‘neutral place’ for art students from the various institutions in Leeds (Leeds Met, University of Leeds, Leeds College of Art) to meet, talk and lay the foundation for a deeper engagement with the city. A range of activities offer opportunities for art students to meet and make connections with real people from other educational institutions!

‘Now Then’ is an exhibition of drawing, photography, sculpture and painting by artists with an intimate understanding of Leeds. Each explore the architecture and the landscape of the city  through a range of approaches including fantastical drawings, a sand sculpture, workshops with young people and photography, hoping to reveal something fascinating and overlooked in the city and offering a fresh perspective to Loiners on their immediate surroundings.
