The West Yorkshire Playhouse has a fine tradition of spectacular productions for all the family at Christmas. This year sees a spellbinding brand new musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic children’s novel, The Secret Garden, directed by Ian Brown who has previously brought us The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The show will be running from now until 23rd January 2010 and tickets are available from the WYP website here.
We have been lucky enough to get our mitts on a some photographs from rehearsals which we hope will whet your whistle!

I would like to find a secret garden at the bottom of my garden. Mine’s very small and although has a touch of magic, if I could just find that door into another world, I would be that happiest little bean. We could have midnight parties with the fairies and make mischief with the pixies and hide from everyday grown-up-ness…x

We live on an old railway line – it would be fantastic to find an old railway carriage, filled with treasures and relics from days gone by

I’d love for there to be a magical world full of fairies at the bottom of the garden a bit like the Cottingley Fairies story
Fairies for the children to play with.
I would love to find somewhere I could just relax & watch my children play.
