LEEDS! This is a rallying call! Against all odds, one of your adopted Loiners has beaten off competition from over 600,000 applications to become a finalist in Tourism Australia’s Best Jobs in the World campaign. I’m one of the 25 vying for the amazing job of Taste Master, which would see me travelling around Western Australia for six months, uncovering all of its food and drink wonders and sharing my experiences of the world.

To be in with a chance of winning, I must spend the next two weeks gathering as much support and advocacy for why I should win this amazing opportunity, and that’s where you lovely people come in!

I’m going to spend the next two weeks tasting my way around our amazing Leeds and meeting the people who provide us with such a wonderful culinary scene. Whilst doing this I’ll be shedding light on all of the similarities that Leeds has with Western Australia’s amazing food and wine scene, and hopefully giving you a taste of what Western Australia is all about as well.

I’ve already had amazing support on twitter and facebook, and I’ve got lots of exciting opportunities with Leeds’ fine food and wine purveyors such as Lazy Lounge, Dish, Leeds Brewery and the lovely Lianne Marie Mease of Everything Goes with Toast to name just a few. The lovely Phil and Emma from the Culture Vulture have also pledged their support and I will be sharing my experiences via regular posts on this very blog.
