What’s the future for the arts in Leeds?

Ever wondered what Leeds Cultural Partnership was all about? Here’s Dinah Clark explaining a bit about what it does, and what this might mean to you if you work in the Arts in Leeds

I work for the Leeds Initiative, my job is to bring together everyone working in the arts in Leeds to help shape its future. I run the Leeds Arts Partnership, it’s a way of opening up ears and minds, in the council, the universities, the major arts institutions – and of bringing them into conversation with smaller arts organisations and creative practitioners to build a scene in Leeds that works for everyone.

Leeds has a rich and diverse, independent art scene which is nourishing and keeping our city vibrant. Are you part of it? Then this event is for you.
Leeds in 2030 – Join our open debate on the future of the arts in Leeds on Wednesday 1 December, 12 Dysons Chambers on Lower Briggate, from 4:00pm till 8:00pm.

The Question
What if Leeds….becomes the best city in the UK? What do we want a culturally vibrant Leeds to look like? How are we going to make it happen?

This meeting is an important opportunity for everyone to influence the next Vision for Leeds, the document that will frame the next two decades development in Leeds.
The Organising Principle:
• The right people are here
• If you propose a workshop you lead it
• Vote with your feet. If you are not getting what you want go to another group
• Each workshop noted and typed on the night.
We will occupy a swanky office building near Dysons Clock in the centre of Leeds with great views and buzzing events on different floors; there’ll be food and drink, loads of other people and some previews of great art before, during and afterwards. We will also chew on a few problems.
