An Incredible Family Film Funday! – Saturday 23rd June, 3-7pm @ The Plaza, Gt Horton, Bradford

The-Incredibles-the-incredibles-620936_1280_994Mike McKenny (@DestroyApathy) tells us about the family film screening going on at a soon-to-be restored cinema in Great Horton, Bradford

The Plaza cinema on Cross Lane in Great Horton showed films from 1914 to 1963, when it unfortunately had to hang up its spools. Well the children and young people’s charity The Joshua Project, who currently operate from the same building following the 2007 demise of the bingo hall that followed from the cinema, are renovating the space to be a fully functioning community cinema for the people of the region. This cinema can then run parallel to the astonishing community work they already provide.

This Saturday (23rd June), from 3pm – 7pm, The Joshua Project is putting on a free family fun film screening in order to test the waters and attain some valuable feedback from the community as to how they would like this cinema to shape up.

There will be pop-corn, cakes, face painting, games, superhero dress-up and the main event of the afternoon, a screening of the Iconic family of superheroes, THE INCREDIBLES. You will even have the chance to meet Mr Incredible himself. The film should tie in nicely with the family friendly tone of the day.

The event is free, but space is limited and you need to book ahead of the event. You can reserve a place by calling down to The Plaza itself at the Impact Centre, Cross Lane, Great Horton, Bradford, BD7 3JT or by calling 07886 864951.

The screening is being supported by Cine Yorkshire and Bradford City of Film
