By Land Air and Sea, but Still Home for Tea

By Land, Air and Sea but still home for tea

On Thursday 17th of September Katie and Gev from Leeds Grub, Tom from Heading There and (hopefully) the ladies from Culture Vulture will  be embarking on a crazy round the world backpacking adventure, the twist being that we wont be leaving the boundary of West Yorkshire!

In just one day we hope to sample over 20 world cuisines by visiting around 20 different restaurants and sharing a dish in each! Its gonna be hard work but we think we can do it!

There is reasoning behind our madness. As well as having a shed load of fun we will be raising money for charity The Smile Train, and also raising awareness about all the fabulous international restaurants we have in this area!

Since 2000, The Smile Train [Registered Charity No 1114748] has provided free surgery for 350,000 children with cleft palates. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where millions of children are suffer with the condition. Most cannot eat or speak properly and aren’t allowed to attend school or to work. These children face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation, pain and heartache. The good news is every single child with a cleft can be helped with surgery that costs as little as £150 and takes as just 45 minutes. We aim to raise enough money to help at least 2 children, although ideally we would love to raise much more. Donate now by visiting our Just Giving Page.

We will be live tweeting all day so follow us (@culturevultures @leedsgrub @headingthere #h4t ) to find out what we are up to, and join our Facebook group too. If you want to join in, meet us at 10 am at Cafe Rouge in The Light. If you can’t come for the whole day, track us down and stay for an hour or two in your lunch break or after work!

Stay tuned to Culture Vulture, Heading There (A great new travel site) and Leeds Grub for more information closer to the day.
