So I’m a lady who likes the finer things in life. I’m not ashamed to admit it! I worked in retail in Leeds for many years before I got into my career in digital so I’d like to think I have a bit of an insider track on the Leeds shopping scene. So here is my luxury Christmas gift guide if you are looking to treat someone big time this year!
A Nod to the Independents
So luxury and independents are not something that many people feel go together. However Leeds very vibrant independent shopping scene has untold amounts of treasures for those willing to step out of the Victoria Quarter and take a look. Take the wonderful Birds Yard, for example. Here I discovered not only a treasure trove of vintage goodies but also these amazing Swarovski encrusted Unicorn heads – I’m not sure where I’d put them or even if I’d get them past the OH and into my house – but I love them!
For something that bit different make sure you check out The JuJu Shop in Leeds Corn Exchange. I fell in love with this fantastic cuckoo clock. Very girly and cute!
Surely the mecca for all things luxury on the Leeds shopping scene! My personal favourite shops have to be:
Jo Malone – heaven scents on earth! Wonderful staff that really know their product and are always available to give help, and even hand massages if you are lucky! Try the Sweet Almond and Macaroon Luxury Candle pure indulgence for the Xmas home.
Berry’s – “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” and I really love mine! Berry’s have a wonderful selection in this year so whether you are thinking of popping the big question or are splashing out on a watch for the Mr, be sure to pay them a visit.
Charbonnel et Walker – Pink champagne truffles …. Need I say more? I may buy a box of these every year as a present to myself for cooking the Xmas dinner 😉 Yummy!!!
Mulberry – Amazing handbags that come in ample sizes to put all of your luxury swag in. At Christmas ever their shopping bags scream luxury with beautiful ribbons and bells on them to tie them up. This year I have my eye on the Dark Blush Bayswater … I’ve been very good Santa!
Harvey Nichols – With luxury on every floor this is the perfect place to treat someone to the latest fashion must have or indeed take a moment out of a busy shopping day to visit the 4th Floor Café. Always great food, the girls and me often take advantage of the very reasonable priced fixed menu. Leeds brewery beer have just started being stocked for the men, and looking ahead to New Year they have a fabulous Great Gatsby themed evening planned
