Last weekend was Holbeck Urban Gardening Weekend. As part of the celebrations, super healthy sandwich and juice shop Out of The Woods are running a couple of special smoothies, one based on elder flowers and another made from rhubarb.
I had a try of the rhubarb smoothie this morning. The gorgeous pink smoothie has a distinctive rhubarb flavour made with a combination of stewed fruit and freshly squeezed rhubarb juice. The flavour is sweetened with orange juice and strawberries and then the drink is topped with lovely crunchy crumble sprinkles.
These special edition smoothies will be available for the rest of the week. While you are in the area, why don’t you get your smoothie to take out and go sit and enjoy it in the fabulous Wonderwood garden behind the Midnight Bell pub.

This sounds delicious Katie – reminded me of the Rhubarb Triangle cocktail I tasted in Anthony’s Piazza in the Corn Exchange last weekend – it’s well worth experiencing too…especially while the rhubarb is in season :o)
