Arty events all over Leeds…

why-rush

It is the season to be merry, and for those of you who love to mix a bit of art with your Christmas shopping then get along to the launch of Art in Unusual Spaces. It’s a brand new scheme which facilitates the marriage of empty units and spaces with artists creating, enlivening, thought provoking and animating.  If you happen to be around the Merrion Centre at 5pm take a peek through the peepholes…6pm it’s onto Leeds shopping plaza for the launch by way of Lands Lane (the strip where HMV, Miss Selfridges etc are located).

On Friday there will be gingerbread men to decorate whilst ooohing and aaaahing over the sublime hand screen printed ‘Make Bake and Grow‘ calendar which has been designed by the talented third year students at Leeds Met. Head along to Armley Mills Industrial Museum at 5.30pm and join us (that’s right we are involved in this charitable affair, and may we say it’s a great place that so few people have visited, why not come check it out?)

Wednesday 16th sees us again at the ‘Why Rush?’ Christmas party at Temple Works Leeds. Taking inspiration from the 1970’s ROSPA posters found in the mill, we invite those who really want to join us to bring a Maguerite Patten inspired dish. More information on the Temple Works website

Thursday 17th December get along to cool art venue Project Space Leeds 5pm -9pm for an end of term Christmas drinks. Whilst you are there check out their range of prints from previous exhibitions, all of which are for sale, and would make lovely unique Christmas presents

We heard a rumour that Paper Scissor Stone also have a party Thursday 10th December… apparently there will be Christmas prezzie action and a mention of our favourite notebook Moleskines… we promise to spread the word on twitter when we hear more about this and any other parties we are tipped off about…
