Yorkshire’s celeb chef Brian Turner will launch Leeds Loves Food, the city’s hugely popular annual food festival.

The award-winning chef has been revealed as the first star turn for the festival taking place from Friday 25th May – Sunday 27th May across a number of sites across the city centre with Brian promising to visit almost all of them!

Brian will open the Leeds Loves Food Theatre Kitchen on the opening day at the Yorkshire Food and Drink show, the festival’s centerpiece on Millennium Square.

He will take to the stage at 11.15am alongside school dinner ladies from the Catering Agency, who will be cooking and championing delicious and nutritious school meals.

Brian will also be joined by ‘Team Leeds’ in a London 2012 inspired cooking demonstration with our good friends The Source from Leeds Kirkgate Markets to create internationally flavored dishes.

He then heads off to the Merrion Centre hosting live cooking demonstrations at 1:30pm and 3pm. Entry is free and Brian will be signing autographs and meeting visitors for photographs after the demonstrations.

His epic day finishes with a special ‘An evening with Brian Turner’ show on Friday evening at Leeds Corn Exchange with tickets available directly from the venue.

Brian’s weekend doesn’t stop there as shoppers at Leeds Kirkgate Market will be treated to a book signing of his latest recipe book on Saturday 26th from 9:30am – 11:00am.

““It’s always great to be back in Yorkshire, not just because of the friendly folk but all of the amazing food on offer from the region,” says Brian.

“I’ve always supported the Leeds food festival and was lucky to be part of one of the first in the city, back in 2006, and am happy to have seen it grow to the regional event it is today.

“Leeds Loves Food has grown and to get to see Kirkgate Markets, The Merrion Centre and The Corn Exchange will bring back many happy memories.”

Organised by Leeds City Council and Marketing Leeds and sponsored by Leeds-based supermarket, Asda, Leeds Loves Food is now in its seventh year and has previously attracted celebrity chefs including John Cristophe Novelli, James Martin and Lesley Waters.
