British Wildlife Festival: Finest Line-up Yet?

Taking place in several venues across Leeds over the first weekend in March, the British Wildlife Festival returns for a seventh year with its finest line-up yet, says Hayley Scott (@hayleys44) …

Despite the likes of Cowtown, Black Moth and Hawk Eyes occupying this year’s bill you won’t find any real animals on show here; instead British Wildlife Festival is an annual event curated by DIY promoter Adam Nodwell who also operates under the moniker of British Wildlife, and it’s all about celebrating the best of both local and international music residing vehemently under the radar and not necessarily getting the attention it deserves. The festival’s main aim is to expose these bands to as broad an audience as possible whilst remaining committed to bringing new and exciting things to Leeds:

British Wildlife is by no means a private members club; it welcomes open hearts and minds for those passionate about interesting and exciting music. In a nutshell, we love these bands and think you should too. Over the years relationships have developed with certain bands who have come back to play in Leeds time and time again to a growing, enthusiastic audience.

Split across the Brudenell Social Club and Royal Park Cellars throughout the weekend, highlights from the Leeds contingent include That F*cking Tank, Bilge Pump and Galaxians along with musical offerings from further afield such as North Wales’ Klaus Kinski and London’s Godzilla Black plus rare distro’s, tea, cake and DJ sets from Norman Records, Crow vs Crow and Slam Island.

The festival takes place from Friday 1st March – Saturday 2nd. Weekend tickets are £15 adv (motd) Friday £5 adv (£7 otd) Saturday £10 adv (£12 otd). Tickets are available from Jumbo Records, Crash Records & wegottickets
