Last year a group of us got together to host a Christmas Fayre at the Holbeck Underground Ballroom. We roasted a pig, sang carols, told festive stories, drunk mulled wine. And there were stalls- lots and lots of stalls. Cakes, crafts, laptop covers, jewellery, etched glasses, at one point there was a stall selling magic tricks.
This year theatre companies Pilot, Third Angel, Rash Dash and Slung Low have come together to host another Christmas Fayre. All the things we loved about last year’s event are still going to be there but we’re hoping to build on last year’s success with even more Christmas cheer and even more people coming down to Fayre.
We’ll be announcing special guests and other secrets nearer the time but at the moment we’re spreading the word to people who might want to have a stall at the Fayre.
There is no charge for a stall. And you keep all the money you make from selling your things.
So if you make anything, pickle anything, bake anything, or have too many books, CD’s, records in your house and you fancy making a bit of money before Christmas then you just have to send an email to slung.low@me.com with your name, contact number and what it is you will be selling. It really is that easy.
The Christmas Fayre is on the Saturday 10th of December from 12pm till 4pm. It will be held at Holbeck underground Ballroom – a series of railway arches on Bath Road, Holbeck (LS11 9UA). There’s plenty of parking on site. Children are most welcome
