Cinderella, A Rock and Roll Panto

Cinderella the Rock and Roll Panto

A Review of Cinderella a Rock and Roll Panto at City Varieties by Ella Baillie Age 10 …

The City Varieties is small but cosy and brightly decorated. We had a great view from the middle of the stalls and from the moment we sat down it was entertainment all the way.

I liked that everyone in the panto took turns singing and playing different instruments in the band on the stage. My favourite singer was Dandini when he did “Shake Your Tail Feather”.

The cast tried to make everyone laugh even when the jokes went a little bit wrong or one of them forgot a prop. I didn’t understand all the jokes but they made the grown ups laugh.

Cinderella was very pretty and sung brilliantly but no one could beat Fairy Funloves tall golden Marge Simpson hairdo, even Prince Charming and Dandinis fancy shiny capes.

The songs were very loud in such a small theatre and there could have been a few less songs and more acting.

The second half after the intermission seemed to go quickly with lots of songs. The huge bouncy balls the audience got to play with were great fun.

If I had to sum up Cinderella a Rock and Roll Panto up in two words they would be entertaining and loud. I would definitely go see it again.

Cinderella is on until Sunday 13 January at Leeds City Varieties.
