The Arts Council England announce further cuts reducing their staff across the UK. The new regions will be London, South West, South East, Midlands and the North and major offices will be located in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol, plus some smaller local offices to keep the Arts Council close to the arts and cultural sector. Guardian journalist Charlotte Higgins reveals all here. What does this mean for the future of funding and relationships in Yorkshire and the North East? Yesterday, the day before the announcement was made about cuts, the Arts Council launched three major funds, one of which may be relevant if you are an arts fundraiser. Let’s face it you’ll need to get creative in this current climate. We are working out how we link with or continue with our own shenanigans but we love the speed in which they just got on a did it.
