Calling Young People Aged 13-19!

Not had many opportunities to go to the theatre?
Maybe you’d like to go on an adventure in Leeds…

SAA-uk (South Asian Arts uk) and Leeds Grand Theatre are on the hunt for young people to take part in a project exploring Echoes of a Music Hall. Delve into the rich history and hidden stories in a world famous venue, whilst sharing what inspires you as young people in Leeds.

The City Varieties Music Hall was originally built in 1865 and continues to entertain audiences to this day. Using music, movement and spoken word you’ll have the chance to work with professional artists to create an exciting performance and ‘interactive tour’ at the venue on 6th June 2012. No previous experience is required it’s all FREE! And if performing doesn’t appeal to you, backstage roles are available.

Sessions begin with a VIP tour on Tuesday 24th April, followed by five weekly workshops at the Grand Theatre every Wednesday from 4pm-5.30pm. Then we’ll take the general public on interactive tour on 6th June.

Curious? Feel free to ring Maria Spadafora on 0113 2445523 to find out more or email education@saa-uk.org.uk Places are limited so applications have to be with us by Friday 13th April.

This project is a collaboration between Leeds Grand Theatre and SAA-uk for Breeze International Youth Festival.
