Opportunities: Otley Courthouse Board Members

Courthouse front

Why not join the Board of Otley Courthouse?

Otley Courthouse is looking for additional members to join its Board of Trustees.

The seven current trustees work closely with the Centre Manager, Volunteer Coordinator and over 90 volunteers.  There are lots of exciting developments in the pipeline and we are looking for one or two more individuals who can contribute to the running of the Courthouse in terms of both time and expertise.

Board members attend monthly meetings to review and plan the Courthouse’s development. They also spend time at the Courthouse both formally – House-Managing events and meeting with staff, and informally – as volunteers (in a variety of roles). They have legal, financial and managerial responsibility for the organisation and its staff and volunteers and are both trustees and directors of the charitable limited company with their liability limited to £1.

The present Board members bring a variety of skill and knowledge areas to their roles as Trustees, and potential Board members with expertise in any of the following areas are invited to apply:

  • Marketing and audience development
  • Education
  • The voluntary sector
  • Legal expertise
  • Finance and fundraising
  • Commercial Experience (entrepreneurial ability; experience of developing income streams; experience of running a business)
  • Running a café
  • Running a bar
  • Managing organisational change
  • Professional experience in the Arts

If you are attracted to the idea of contributing to the continued success of this unique arts and resource centre, and feel that you have the time and expertise to make a real impact please contact us on admin@otleycourthouse.org.uk and we will send you a short application and information pack.

Please let us know of your interest by April 22nd.
