The festive season will herald the new arrival of a feast of independent retailers popping-up at award-winning waterside development, Granary Wharf in Leeds.

From 25 November 2011 a trio of pop-up shops will open their doors for a limited time only, offering an array of fashions and foodie treats from a Granary Wharf venue for Out of the Woods coffee shop, as well as city centre retailers Aqua designer clothing and boutique Bird’s Yard.

Out of the Woods’s Christmas shop returns thanks to popular demand after the success of last year’s pop-up shop and will offer a range of Christmas goodies including its scrumptious Yorkshire hampers, speciality cheeses, chocolates and chutneys as well as Christmas Cards, decorations and lots of other local delights and gift ideas. The Christmas Shop is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 12pm until 6pm (8pm on Thursdays) until 24th December.

Aqua, the Leeds brand known for their innovative clothing for men and women, is holding its annual 10 day clearance sale at Granary Wharf where new season samples and last season collection pieces will be on offer for up to 90% off the recommended retail price. The Aqua pop-up store is a style stop for all fashionistas offering vintage t-shirts available from £10 and dresses and denim from £20 each. The cash only store will trade from Monday to Wednesday and Saturday from 10am – 6pm, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 8pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm.

Also open for business for those with a penchant for vintage vogue, is Bird’s Yard which returns to the Wharf following a successful pop-up shop at the Leeds Waterfront Festival in the summer. On sale will be the shop’s unique range of vintage and boutique clothes, bags and accessories from Leeds’ only stockist of iconic Tatty Devine jewellery and over 60 local designers represented at the store as well as pieces from the new home wares department. The shop will be open until 11 December every Tuesday to Saturday 12midday to 7pm, Sunday 11am to 2.30pm, closed Mondays.

All three shops will be open late on Thursday 1 December when Granary Wharf celebrates the start of advent. From 6 – 8pm the Salvation Army band will be performing and mince pies, mulled wine and roast chestnuts will be available. Out of the Woods will also be offering the chance to decorate and take home four cupcakes from workshops at 5.30, 6.30 and 7.30pm at £5.00 per person on a first come first served basis.
