Some of the best new theatre in Britian is coming out of Leeds and this is your chance to see it first. The Carriageworks, Seven and Stage@Leeds present the Emerge Festival which will showcase the very best the region has to offer.
During each afternoon there will be a series of workshops and seminars led by professional theatre practitioners aimed at developing the skills of local artists as well as sessions aimed at young people with an interest in theatre.
By night there will be the opportunity to see a variety of performances each evening including full length performances, scratch showings (thats a chance to see a work in progress for those unfamiliar with the lingo!) and previews of shows travelling to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This Culture Vulture can personally recommend ‘An Audience with Ruby Corset‘ at Seven Arts on 20th July from 7pm, if you like your cellists with an deadly aristocratic twist, having recently had the pleasure to see this delightfully dark performer. The Festival will close with a performance of Red Ladder Theatre’s Red Grit and the full programme of events can be found on the festival website.
What’s more, The Culture Vulture is giving away TWO week passes for the Festival (includes all shows EXCEPT Red Grit) for your chance to win click HERE Closing Date: 15th July
