Cultural Conversations (Free Event – Bring your own lunch) 2nd December Stockton our first stop in Teesside

Venue: The Georgian Theatre (Event kicks off at 2pm)

Could you get more out of social networking both online and in real life? Do you have something you’d wish to share and extol and want to find other likeminded people sharing your enthusiasm?

How about coming along to a cultural conversation in Stockton at the Georgian Theatre on 2nd December to discover more about the ways in which you can get the most out of using social media technologies to tell the stories that matter most to you?

It’s a friendly environment where the ‘experts’ tend to be each other, and what a relief to find out they might be sat next to you or work just around the corner. It’s also a kind of open networking with people who give a hoot about making stuff happen.

Your story could be that you make/do something and you want people to know, to come, to enjoy, to go off and tell others about it. Or maybe you feel passionate about the place you live in and want the world to witness it as you see it? Or you may be inspired by talented people around you and want to support them to succeed by amplifying their efforts?

Who is it for?
You might be an artist, maker, producer, doer, DJ, hairdresser, record store owner, arts council office, theatre maker, journalist, micro brewer, designer, coffee shop enthusiast, local government planner, promoter, secret supper club host, blogger, actor, brick layer, venue manager, tourism officer…you get the idea?

It’s a kind of bring your own enthusiasm event, where collectively we can learn from each other. Sounds simple? It is!

We’ve already got some interesting people coming who can share a bit about getting more out of the web, such as blogging, tweeting, Google analytics, writing good copy, getting read, event planning and more.
What do you think you need & what can you bring?

Just in case you’re wondering who are we?
The Culture Vulture is a northern blog written by the people for the people, just over 2 years old we have over 30 regular contributors and host ‘cultural conversations’ as a way to get likeminded people into a room to help each other to appreciate what’s under their noses. Sometimes that’s about meeting people, sometimes it’s about developing and growing a presence online, sometimes it’s about supporting each other in time, advocacy, critical friendship and resources. They are fluid dynamic events which inform the subject matter for the next event.

We started asking about the culture for blogging and social networking in the North East and as a result have been commissioned by Arts Council England to help find and support our potential counterparts
