Transient at The Millspace Armley Mills

Artist Sarah Brannan is the first artist in residence at the MillSpace at Armley Mills, and has been busy beavering away on her new exhibition. Ahead of her opening event tomorrow we ask her to share a few words about what she’s been up to! Better still wrap up warm and take a trip down and meet Sarah in the flesh!

It’s the first of the residencies at the MillSpace at Armley Mills and I’ve been creating work which responds to the archives and also questions museums in general: how they shape our past by how they display and theme it. I’ve have also been interested in looking at things which have been kept but not put on display and also the storage and display process. The show runs through December and consists of sculpture, animation, collage and site specific drawing. The title of the show is TRANSIENT.

All are welcome to the opening and the museum is free for those attending the gallery. Yippee!

The event runs Saturday 27th November 3pm – 5pm Armley Mills Industrial Museum, off Canal Road, Leeds
