Anyone know if the artists conceived this piece with the crowd barriers in place?
In some ways they speak volumes…..
Without wishing to sound bitter or snarky, the barriers are probably there to stop it being ruined by drunkards and scags 🙁 As much as I love Leeds, you can’t deny it has its population of idiots who love to ruin the good stuff for the rest of us.
In terms of a story though, I kinda like the idea that the barriers make it look so ‘normal.’ As if trees and ships sprouting from the ground is a common occurence in Leeds, almost like roadworks and potholes.
