Watch out you don’t get ‘Cut’ at Paper Scissor Stone

cut2Get yourself along to our favourite Leeds store, Paper Scissor Stone for the opening night of Leeds Art Festival (Leeds Metropolitan University near month long celebration of art and design talent) 3rd May 7pm

The book is a ‘photo-novel’ in collaboration with Third Year students on the BA(Hons) Graphic Arts and Design course at Leeds Metropolitan University. ‘Cut’ is the seventh publication in the Bound/Unbound series produced annually by the course and this year’s edition bravely breaks away from the traditional format.

Based on an unpublished short story by the award-winning, Yorkshire born author of Electricity and the Man Without. ‘Cut’ is a tender, truthful and passionate love story between a man and a woman facing up to the woman’s recovery from breast cancer, and the impact it has had on their relationship.

The design students worked with Ray Robinson, who himself is a Graphic Design graduate from Liverpool School of Art  as well as being awarded a Ph.D in Creative Writing from Lancaster University in 2006.

The first 500 copies are a collectible special edition, signed by the author and designed with unique added extras that will be sold online through Play.com, with proceeds going to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. The rest will be available in bookshops from Monday 8th June.
