Call for Family Writers

Me and my kids

As 2012 really gets going I’ve been thinking about developing the ‘Family’ section of The Culture Vulture blog. Personally I’m always on the look out for new places, ideas and things to do with my family but I’m as guilt as anyone of sticking to the usual places and we’re not always very good at trying new things. Time is precious on a weekend and weather unpredictable so I’d love to have a stack of new ideas to try out and what better place to share than here on The Culture Vulture.

So firstly I’d like to ask you to share your favourite places, your hidden gems and events. Where could the family bloggers be sent out to try and report back on? If you’ve got some places you think more families should know about then add them to the comments below or drop me a line.

And if you and your family are interested in contributing to The Culture Vulture please do contact me, I’m looking for your news and reviews and from time to time we have opportunities for writers to go along to events in and around Leeds too. We’re also keen to get some younger bloggers contributing too …

I can be contacted at monicatailor@gmail.com or tweet me @monicatailor

  1. Hardcastle Craggs just outside Hebden Bridge is well worth a trip out to. Their is a range of on and off road walks for all ages in some beautiful countryside.

As it is rip off National Trust land parking isn’t cheap but there is a fanstasic cafe about two miles up the track serving decent sandwiches and fab soups that is reasonably priced.

It’s a great day out for all the family.

PS. if you do a morning walk at the weekend you could always pop down to Hebden Bridge’s community owned Picture House where there is always a kids film every Sat and Sun from 2pm. Parents can take coffees in too,
