QUIFFest – Win Tickets to see The Dodge Brothers at the Bradford International Film Festival

QUIFF KermodePaul Clarke takes a look at the Bradford International Film Festival’s #QUIFFest.

Grease is the word

The slickest quiff will win tickets to The Dodge Brothers in Bradford

Quiff SiMark Kermode may be the hippest film critic on the circuit but he moonlights as slap bassist in rockabilly revivalists The Dodge Brothers who play a one off date at the Bradford International Film Festival. (Image left is Simon Cantrill’s (Twitter: @SimonCantrill) entry into the competition)

The Brothers might be famous for their toe tapping revivals but they are also famous for their eye catching quiffs (As displayed by Mr Kermode in the pic at the top of this post), and they’re offering Culture Vultures a chance to win two free tickets to see The Dodge Brothers and Neil Brand accompany silent film Beggars of Life (April 21st).

All you have to do is send a picture of your slick flick to the festival’s facebook page or tweet your photo to @BradFilmFest and tell them you want two tickets to see The Dodge Brothers (@dodgebrothers).

Quiff Tom WoolleyThe judges will choose the best quiff on Monday 5th March, and post the photo on Twitter and Facebook so the winner can bask in the glory of having the coolest, punkest, rockin’est ‘do in town. (Right is Tom Woolley’s (Twitter @tcwoolley) contribution to #QUIFFest)

But it’s not just Mark and the gang sporting quiffs as Ray Winstone (One of the many guests at this year’s BIFF) can be seen sporting a punk inspired rockabilly ‘do in the 1981 film Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains, which is being screened as part of this year’s retrospective honouring the quintessential Cockney Geezer.
