Pinocchio Christmas Present from Opera North

The Adventures of Pinocchio - Music by Jonathan Dove, Words by A

To celebrate Christmas Opera North have given us 20 tickets to distribute as we see fit, (so pairs/families etc) to see the delightful and cheeky The Adventures of Pinocchio, a true ‘pantopera’! Boo the cat and the fox in their dastardly capers and cheer Pinocchio on in his quest to be ‘gud’!

To get even more giddy at the prospect why not poke your nose at the website to see behind the scenes video, music, blogs and a childrens storybook

To win we ask you to tell us something in the comments box which could either be a fib or the truth based on something you did today, we care not, but we may try and guess! Winners will be plucked by the 22nd December and informed by email. Do let us know how many adults/children in your party (2 adults/2 children max ticket)

Available for the 29 December performance at 7pm

  1. Today two snotty sick Northern lasses ventured to London town and on numerous occassions were told how Northern their accents were?!? Conclusion = snot makes one sound more Northern! END

  2. Bought two boxes of buns at supermarket (well, it was a special offer) for 3yo’s nursery party tomorrow. But the millionaire shortbread looked too good to resist, so only 1 box of buns going to party tomorrow now 😉

  3. Frankie (aged 5) says that with whilst she was making a Christmas Card for Miss D. she cut her finger with a pair of scissors. It was bad and was only one snip away from falling completely off. It took 3 teachers, 42 plasters and 7 health and safety officers to stick it back on. After eating 4 mince pies Frankie decided that her finger was ‘alright for now’, however when she located her packlunch box she found a piece of her finger within.

  4. I am an organised, calm alpha mummy whose children are always totally ironed and sorted. We are never late for school, I never forget dinner money and always bake buns for the PTA when requested. My children don’t know what sweets are and have never ever been to McDonald’s. I disinfect the kitchen floor every night and never go out drinking with my friends.

    1. PS, I finished all my Christmas shopping 3 weeks ago and will definitely not be rushing into town in a panicked state next week.

      1. Anyone who saw you from across the room would say they believed this, but seeing as we’ve met I’m inclined to shout Liar Liar! However you still managed to make a pair of blinds this year which is more accomplished than me!

  5. Today I sang my heart out at the carol concert for my lovely Grandad who’d come a long way to hear me sing. Ruby, aged 8.

P.s. Our party is me and my mum.

  6. Today, well yesterday actually, so that was a fib, I found out that company X had bought their own copies of InDesign and Photohsop. I punched the air in delight knowing that the future of graphic design in their organisation was in safe hands and that boundaries of visual communication would continue to be pushed.

I wonder if they got comic sans as well?

  7. haven’t done much today but made coffee in my underwear to ‘Happy Heart’ by Andy Williams.Did a bit of dancing to it.I actually wrote that song. And sang it.

  8. This morning I sewed a chair to a blanket. Very carefully and very unintentionally. Beautiful stitching. Shame to have to unpick it all stitch by stitch. And all before breakfast.

  9. I had to get up early to get my car to garage for MOT as it runs out today. Here I am two and a half hours later waiting for breakdown to come as I cant get into my car. Door locks frozen. Never happened before. why today? :((

  22. Ok, it is a bit of saga but here goes. Two days ago with 3 ailing children we walked up the hill to get my car to take them to school. Glass on the pavement in the frozen snow was the first time I realised something was up. Car broken in to :(! Walked them back down the hill to the house. One child getting more ill by the second. An hour later – the boiler broke down. That night we tried to sleep in -10 temperature. We would really love some winter cheer! Trying to get everything fixed by christmas. (2 adults, 2 children).

  24. Last night I poured warm water on my car to defrost all the ice from the windscreens, only to find that by the time I had taken the jug back in the house, locked up and got back to the car, the water had already frozen solid again, albeit in very pretty ice patterns!
