But before you enter we thought you might want to know a little more about this Yorkshire gem that’s been building its profile over the last four years. Read on for more info on how to enter too…

Underneath the Stars festival is a cheeky and charming Roots music & arts festival set in the Cannon Hall Farm estate, nestled in the picture-perfect Pennine foothills at Cawthorne, between Barnsley and Huddersfield.

Now in its fourth year, Underneath the Stars festival was created by the Rusby family – led by siblings Joe and Emma, and headlined each year by their folk singer-songwriter sister Kate, who has been described by The Guardian as “a superstar of the British acoustic scene”.

Joe Rusby is the festival’s Artistic Director. His vision was to create a festival experience where all genres of acoustic roots music can be featured together and be presented in a really great listening environment which veteran music fans as well as festival newcomers can enjoy.

“We’re very lucky to have Kate Rusby headlining every year at the festival, and always delighted to welcome her old and new fans each year… the Star Gazer clan! It’s definitely a fun job building a line-up to complement Kate’s music as well as hopefully finding some challenges to spring our growing audience.”

Whether you’re a dyed in the wool folk fan, up for a great family festival experience, fancying a relaxed weekend with friends or something in between then Underneath the Stars festival might just be worth a look this year, especially given the range of quality performers already announced.
