Culture Vultures Editor and Writer @PhilKirby wrote a post on culture vultures a while back, this time not about some misguided flaneur or home tourist post, but about him and I doing a creative response to a blogger review of spanish Artist Jaume Plensa at Yorkshire Sculpture Park earlier this year.
We wanted to express the importance of a word, a sentence, a written structure, the art of writing. So in taking a page from an essay written by William Hazlitt, ‘The Pleasure of Painting’, we wished to produce a response that would both share an open joy of reading (creating 246 bookmarks), but also a work that becomes void of all text in that process (the page is left with only its title and page no.)

So it is finally time the limited edition Bookmarks are available to the public.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park have agreed so kindly that the bookmarks will be available on request from the Underground Gallery over by the desk, and I am sure you will see a tweet or two from either @rasharples @philkirby @culturevultures and @YSPSculpture with previously used #JaumePlensaYSP & #246books to reference to get your bookmark.
We have also produced a book for Jaume Plensa, with bookmark no. 57, beauty. The works of Jaume Plensa will be at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park till 22nd January.
