ART EXHIBITION PREVIEW

cover-of-a-book
Thursday 23 April from 6 to 8pm
Leeds Met Gallery

Leeds Met Gallery are at it again! This time they have a double bill exhibition previewing:

Reading and Writing by Christopher Hall and Alexander Kelly (of Third Angel), and

The Cover of Book Is the Beginning of a Journey, an Arnolfini Project in collaboration with the University of the West of England.

Entrance is free and includes a drinks reception so what are you waiting for?

We particularly like the participatory nature of this exhibition as it grows throughout. Expect to see commands and actions on our blog and on Twitter from April onwards.

Sporadically throughout The Cover of Book is the Beginning of a Journey students from BA Fine Art and Art, Event, Performance will be activating and carrying out instructions. Browse the books and initiate your own actions… to give you a flavor here are a few of the things cooking:

1) Be one of the 100 visitors to bring an object that is certainly not art, to display for the duration of the exhibition (Cesare Pietroiusti & Platform)

2) Take a red dot and place it somewhere in the Gallery on an item not intended to be looked at (ref: Jimmie Durham).

3) Cut out question marks from newspapers or magazines and affix them to things you want to question, photograph and bring to the Gallery (Julius Koller).
