Paper Scissor Stone, a unique independent art/clothing/books concept store down near the bus station in Leeds launches a new range of fixed gear cycling limited edition sneakers called Veja X Cyclope, today (Saturday 6th February). Alongside the drink and nibbles being served to the fixed gear crowd (do get along 2pm -6pm if you are interested) is the launch of an exhibition ‘116 to sea’ The photographs, by Joe McGorty, are of the Dunwich Dynamo annual night ride of 200km from London to the lost city of Dunwich on the Suffolk coast. (We are intrigued, sounds like Camelot!)
Apparently fixed gear cycling is all the rage these days, having seen the bike it certainly would make our hearts beat faster as it has no brakes, you pedal backwards…Still it’s a while since we climbed into our lycra to whizz around the streets, so don’t fear for your lives, you wont be seeing a culturevulture bombing towards you on a skinny bike with no means of stopping anytime soon! However you might find us mooching around Paper Scissor Stone enjoying the exhibition!
