Half term family fun with SAA-uk

saa-uk

SAA-uk @southasianartuk have a load of fun, free half term events coming up.

Get your diaries out, people, we at SAA-uk have got some halt-term treats lined up that are suitable for the whole family (and they’re free!)…

On Wednesday 6th June roll up for a very unique tour of the City Varieties Music Hall, led by a group of young people with artists Lorraine Cowburn and Sameer Butt. For Breeze International Youth Festival 2012 we teamed up with the Grand Theatre to get this group exploring Echoes of a Music Hall, and this is your chance to find out just what (and who) they uncovered. Tours take place at 1pm and 2.30pm and last around half an hour. Trust me, it’ll be fun and quite different to any other visits you may have had to the UK’s oldest working music hall. Order your free tickets via the box office on 0113 2430808.

And join us at Leeds City Museum on Thursday 7th June between 11am and 3pm for family fun to coincide with our Shringar exhibition in the Leeds Story gallery. This exhibition explores the ornamental beauty of South Asia, and to make it truly interactive you and the kids can join in with free arts and crafts activities, have your make-up done, learn to tie a sari and be photographed for our online gallery.

So grab the kids and come and explore perspectives of Leeds you may not have experienced before. And did I mention it’s all free…?
