Home for Tea: an update

OK, so I’m starting to realise that arranging the biggest, bestest charity event of the year isn’t as easy as I thought it would be but progress is definitely being made.

If you don’t already know,  Home for Tea is an ambitious project where we aim to go round the world in a day by visiting over 20 different international restaurants in Leeds and Bradford, sharing a dish in each. Sponsorship money is going to The Smile Train [Registered Charity No 1114748] – a charity that provides free surgery for children with cleft palates in the developing world. Please go to our Just Giving page to donate… do it NOW!

We are really excited by our new logo and poster, kindly designed and donated by the guys at Vector Design Concepts look out for posters springing up in destination restaurants over the next week or so.

We are also really excited by the support we are getting from the destination restaurants. Salsa Mexicana are giving us free food, as are Sandinista who have also generously pledged a £50 donation! Other restaurants have shown a keen interest in helping us with our crazy journey… I will keep you updated.

If you want to join us on the day, just show up on the 17th of September at 10am at The Light shopping centre. Alternatively you can meet us along the way, follow our tweets @leedsgrub @headingthere @culturevultures (#h4t ) on the day to find out where we are. Its gonna be a lot of fun with the opportunity to meet loads of interesting people, try over 20 different world cuisines and raise money for a seriously good cause.

If you cant make it on the day, you can still show your support by joining our Facebook group and did I mention that you can MAKE  A DONATION on our Just Giving page. Thanks 🙂
