Lamp Posts by Seth Clapham

We love Yorkshire Telly! What’s not to love? It’s fresh, vibrant and more importantly extolling the brilliance of artists, writers, performers, musicians, bands, makers from across Yorkshire in intriguing settings. So in a short tea break sized burst you can be entertained, educated and have your eyes opened to the personalities making great stuff across our huge county! Take a look at Lamp Posts by Seth Clapham before heading over to their site for a good butchers at more…

Because they seem to like us back, they are offering YOU a marvellous opportunity in a once monthly feature…If you’ve come across a great thing recently, be it a musician, artists, maker, baker, artisan, story teller, maverick, doer of magic, whatever, let us know in the comments box below who they are and what they do…Tell a story, use a hyperlink to give us a flavour (they wont appear immediately as comments with hyperlinks have to be moderated to make sure they are not spam)

By the middle of the month (date tbc) Yorkshire Telly will be in contact with the suggested artist/band etc to arrange a secret filming somewhere deeply interesting

By this time next month the new video will be unveiled…and then it starts again! Hey presto!

So who do you think should be bathed in glory, or discovered, uncovered, loved and adored?

  1. Um, I’m biased as I’m related to him, but what about Yorkshire guitar maker Jim Fleeting? “One of the UK’s leading luthiers”, according to the Guardian.

Builds acoustic guitars, electric guitars and other stringed instruments. Workshop in a tumbledown Victorian warehouse, tucked away in Ripon city centre. Customers include Gordon Giltrap and Michael Henderson (former bassist for Stevie Wonder).

    He makes things like this:

  2. Mesh Dance are a fledging contemporary dance company who are aiming to challenge perceptions about dance and disability (www.meshdance.com).

I was lucky enough to attend a sharing of their work recently and it was inspired to see such diversity both valued and celebrated.I’m not sure what they have in the pipeline next, but I can’t wait to see how they develop in the coming months!

  3. The Seth Clapham video is ABSOLUTELY brilliant!

    My recommendation would be…

Keith Burton and his Beef Curtain
originally of Wakefield but now living in Saltaire.

Check out his tribute to Zoe Tate from Emmerdale:
