On the 22nd of November this year I tweeted around my 900th picture of the year. It was called Traveller’s Horse no.5. (I’ve been taking a series of them). My friend Justin Grasty, the very talented graphic designer,(who shares a mutual love of colour), replied…”7 more and you’ve got a calendar”

I, while distracting myself from work, replied “I’ll need some graphics then!”…….and so it began. Before the end of the day a flurry of emails had taken place and before I knew it Justin had come up with a fantastic design. One month on, after an edit of around 1000 pictures and advertising only on Facebook, Twitter and attending the fabulous Friday picnic last week, I have virtually sold out of my print run of 90…..

…..The whole process started in January 2011 when I bought an iPhone4. At the time I had no idea how this transaction would revolutionize my photography this year…..

….I see pictures all the time and everywhere I go. It started when I was a teenager. This has been both fabulous and frustrating if a camera isn’t in my hand. The iPhone gave me access to a camera all the time…

At first I started using the Hipstamatic app but have since developed my iphoneography into using several applications that give me greater control…

Along this journey I joined Twitter and Instagram where I have been tweeting and uploading pictures virtually everyday under the ‘nom-de-camera’ BettyLawless….

The photographs in this blog show the large prints from the calendar that has been printed photographically to retain the strength of colour and to give those who bought it a set of 12 prints at the end of the year which can be framed….
