Win Law And Order: UK (Series 1.1) on DVD

Law & Order: UK 1.1 (Released by Universal Playback)
Law & Order: UK 1.1 (Released by Universal Playback)

Being a fan of modern crime shows is a bit like drowning in alphabet soup. You’ve got CSI, NCIS, DDU, DEA and the latest one about farming crime entitled EIEIO. OK,I made the last one up. Thank goodness that Law & Order manages to at least have a proper title, even if it does cheat sometimes and refer to itself as L&O. Firmly established in the US, the show focuses on both the investigation of a crime and the subsequent trial of the accused perpetrators. Often tense and taught, the show has run for many series thanks to some strong performances and numerous spin-off shows, including L&O: Criminal Intent and L&O: Special Victims Unit.

Now the franchise comes over to the UK with the release of Law & Order: UK (Series 1.1) from Universal Playback. Thankfully, our version doesn’t consist of thrilling accounts of dealing with teenagers drinking in Tesco’s car park or an evil driver who has dared to mount the kerb.  There’s hard hitting action with vicious crimes and nasty murders for our team to deal with whist the likes of Bradley Walsh, Freema Agyeman and Bill Paterson clearly enjoying playing the  defenders of truth and justice. There’s a commendable gloss to the show, and it retains the slickness of its US counterparts whilst managing to accommodate a sense of British grit.

LAW & ORDER:UK (Series 1.1) is available from January 11th, released by Universal Playback, on DVD from all good stockists.

Thanks to Universal Playback we have 3 copies of the DVD to give away to our lovely readers. So if you would like the chance to win one please head on down to the comments box and tell us which US crime show you think should be made in the UK.

Please be sure to read our terms and conditions which you are deemed to have accepted by entering! Winners will be picked at random using random.org so why not give it a go!Closing date: 15th February 2010
