Leeds Rocks this Friday!

Leeds Rock Flyer
This Friday night on Friday the 15th October, the grand Saviles Hall and Royal Armouries at Leeds’ Clarence Dock will host Leeds Rocks: “A fashion, music, dance and art extravaganza!”

Leeds Rocks is a spectacular and unique amalgamation of performances and shows held across a stage, a catwalk and a dance floor.

The event celebrates the unique and independent spirit of Leeds, showcasing the work of talented young designers and musicians and providing entertainment to around 700 guests. Put together by a team of passionate creatives, the event will not only support, exhibit and expose local talent, it will also raise money for Future Arts, a Leeds-based social enterprise that helps disadvantaged young adults in Leeds to channel their feelings into something positive. Just as Future Arts supports young people as the talented artists, musicians and designers of the future, Leeds Rocks aims to do the same.

Featured highlights include a selection of garments from James Steward (currently one of the hottest names in the Leeds fashion scene) before he heads over to Canada as the first ever British designer to show in Vancouver Fashion Week 2010.

Production for the night will be led by Leeds’ Nick Whitehouse, who has created some of the best lighting effects in the world for artists such as Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys and Timberland, along with Fashion Rocks New York and London.

Leeds Rocks and Future Arts is supported by numerous local buinsesses (listed below), and the local media will be out in force, with event coverage provided by Larry and Paul from Radio Aire, local web-based television channel Ugroove and many more photographers and film crews.
